We propose paving the station forecourt on the road ‘Am Bahnhof’ using cobbles made from typical local stone, laid diagonally. When laid with narrow joints, this sawn and bush-hammered, large-format cobbled surface not only has a warm and lively appearance, but also a timeless quality and it is perfectly suited to take on the impact of traffic. The surface also incorporates a textured, visually discernible system of orientation for the visually impaired. The current barely perceptible entrance to the town will once more gain its significance, reinforcing the view towards the Königsteiner Strasse.
