Vocational regulations and codes of professional conduct
Hessian Act of Architects and Urban Planners, main statutes of Hessian’s Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners (Hauptsatzung der AKH), rules concerning continuing professional education, arbitration and mediation regulations. The vocational regulations and codes of professional conduct can be viewed (in German), accessed, and downloaded via the homepage of the AKH (www.akh.de) under the section titled “Recht”.
Out-of-court settlement of disputes
In the interest of an amicable settlement of any dispute arising out of the employment of professionals, and professional societies, between these and third parties, an application for settlement may be made according to § 7 of the arbitration regulations for Hessen’s Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners (§ 7 der Schlichtungsordnung der Architekten- und Stadtplanerkammer Hessen) (www.akh.de/Service/Schlichtung).
Mandatory information for consumers
In case of any dispute with our clients, we always strive to settle by mutual agreement. This means that, in appropriate cases – which may require the assent of our professional indemnity insurers – we also participate in a conciliation procedure, which is heard before experts of the Arbitration and Conciliation Committee of the Hessen Chamber of Architects and City Planners, Bierstadter Strasse 2, 65189 Wiesbaden. We do not, however, refer such cases to a consumer arbitration board, under the terms of the EU directive on ‘Alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes’ (VSBG).
