In 1982 the Museum für Angewandte Kunst was built by the American architect Richard Meier. From 2008 until 2011 the schneider+schumacher Bau- und Projektmanagement GmbH (schneider+schumacher building and project management GmbH) has been refurbishing the museum on the banks of the river Main, in particular the flat roof, the façade and the external floor surfaces.
