Association of German Architects BDA Architecture Award 2024 RLP | SAAR

The Association of German Architects BDA of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland awarded the BDA Architecture Prize 2024 RLP | SAAR at the end of November. The jury shortlisted 15 projects from a total of 71 – including the PANDION DOXX planned by schneider+schumacher. In addition, six commendations and three awards were presented.
Describing the qualities of the PANDION DOXX the jury commented: “A house on the harbour – in the middle of the harbour – which itself aspires to create a hub. Rather than applying standard residential building vocabulary, the project creates a geometrically distinctive, self-confident new urban block, designed as a double-X. In addition to more than 150 apartments on the upper floors, the open ground floor generates an open city square, organised around the building’s structural supports, thus providing a sophisticated open space designed to be adopted by both residents and visitors alike.
