Baunetz, an online architecture magazine, published an article in mid-October on the FAIR particle accelerator construction site in Darmstadt. In it, editor Sophie Marthe describes the way in which the need for radiation protection has affected the building’s design, and elucidates the ‘form follows beam’ design approach adopted by the ion42 consortium – consisting of DGI Bauwerk and schneider+schumacher.
